Full time 37 hours per week - Permanent and Fixed term contracts available

Salary: Grade 5, £28,049 - £32,621

These posts offer an exciting opportunity to play an active role in providing housing advice and homeless prevention to members of the public who reside or wish to reside in the South Cambridgeshire District. A key aspect of the roles will be working with landlords and support agencies to prevent homelessness as well as investigating homeless applications, having regard to the Code of Guidance and other relevant legislation.  The posts will involve regular contact with clients including face to face, telephone and written communication.  The ability to work in a fast paced environment and to respond sensitively but appropriately to people in difficult circumstances is essential.  The ability to travel within the district is desirable.

We are looking for candidates who can offer:

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Experience of providing housing advice and homeless prevention services
• Knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation
