Job Title: CNC Mill Turn Operative

Location: Birmingham, B24

Salary: Competitive

Job Type: 48 Hours/Week OR 36 Hours/Weekend

Hours: Monday to Thursday (07 - 19) working 48 hours per week OR;

Nights Friday - Sunday (07 - 19 or 19 - 07) working a 36-hour weekend

  • Main customers are Aerospace, Defence, Marine, Power Generation & Nuclear Markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read drawings and creates CNC programs accordingly.
  • Setting up and programming CNC machines (Mazak).
  • First- off dimensional tests on new programs.
  • Feeds and runs CNC machines.
  • In-process controls using manual devices (gauges, micrometre).
  • Finished product inspections using CNC CMM machines.
  • Problem- aware, active handling of CNC machines.
  • Evolution of own skills and techniques.

The Candidate:

Successful candidates will be operating their suite of brand new Okuma Mill Turn Machines producing Complex Precision Machined Components for the Aerospace Industry.

  • Time Served / Skilled Turner.
  • Professional handling of CNC machines.
  • Methodical skills like 5S or CIP useful.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently.
  • Willing to improve themselves and their work environment.
