Operation Technician - A Cleaner Generation

What we need?

A Cleaner Generation are one of the largest Solar Farm cleaning companies in the UK and we are excited to announce that we are looking for a talented Operation Technician to help support the backbone of this growing business.

We need someone who is an experienced agricultural and plant machine driver with the skills to problem solve, to help A Cleaner Generation further its success and potential. The ability to work away from home around the UK, in a hard-working, often physical and seasonally based environment with the ability to maintain equipment, be responsible for your own safety and environment and undertake preparation of vehicles, machinery and stock for upcoming works is essential.

We are looking for a self-directed, quick thinking and organised technician to help with our business expansion and to scale our current high-quality service and client expectations.

Who we are

A Cleaner Generation expanded from an established commercial cleaning business to fulfil the demand for solar farm cleaning within the South of England and Wales. With the experience of cleaning over 4 million panels in the past 4 years, mostly by hand, A Cleaner Generation expanded to offer machine cleaning in 2017. It is now one of the largest solar farm cleaning companies in the country.

We’re looking for someone who can continue to support delivery of our services to the high standard we expect and develop further revenue streams

You’ll need to maintain our current customer contracts and develop great relationships with key people within those businesses, while also ensuring you have a good working relationship with the staff on the ground, clients and landowners.

What we’ll need you to do

  • Prepare and maintain equipment, machinery and vehicles for each individual contract.
  • Take part in the cleaning of solar farms, roof mounted arrays such like utilising a range of methods that include manual as well as machine cleaning.
  • Being responsible for your own Health and Safety as well as the team and its method of work.
  • Reporting on the progress and completion of the contracts digitally.
  • Build on established relationships with customers
  • Working away from home is part and parcel of this role, often with long shifts.
  • Working as a team is essential, so the ability to communicate and form good working relationships with colleagues is essential

Required skills, knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • Educated to Level 3 or equivalent
  • Physically fit and able to work in challenging outdoor environments
  • Mechanically minded in agricultural machinery and vehicles
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player with potential to become a team leader
  • Ability to work away from home at days’ notice
  • Experienced tractor driver
  • Highly motivated with a flexible and enthusiastic approach to working in a team
  • Quick thinking and flexible approach to problem solving

Due to the nature of the role a lot of travel is involved so a Full Clean UK driving licence is essential.

Desirable:

  • Trailer licence or category BE, C1 or above, preferred.
  • Clear and confident communicator
  • Computer literate eg Word and Excel
  • Experience in using digital media
  • Ability to formulate simple reports
  • Management skills
  • Knowledge of the renewables market
