Cornwall Hospice Care is a leading Cornish charity providing specialist care for adults who are living with terminal illness. The care is provided at our two hospices – Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell and St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle.

About the Role: This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced fundraiser to lead our legacies, major gift and trust and grant programmes.

This is an exciting time to join Cornwall Hospice Care. The Fundraising Team is embarking on an ambitious, yet realistic new fundraising strategy to develop and grow income. Focusing on
sustainable development, this role is viewed as integral to the success of the strategy and will
manage, develop and lead Cornwall Hospice Care’s legacies income stream, a new specific major gifts stream and hold responsibility for the management of trust and foundation income.

Cornwall Hospice Care has a strong history of receiving generous gifts from supporters in their wills and from trusts and foundations, and there will be opportunity to develop the role to suit the strengths of the successful candidate. Immediate areas of focus will likely include legacy pledgers, stewardship thereafter and case management. Also an entire review of major gifts as well as the opportunity to recruit a trust and grants fundraiser.

Cornwall Hospice Care will provide a supportive and collaborative working environment, offering excellent employee benefits and the opportunity for learning and development within your role.

Primarily based at our Income Generation Offices, the successful candidate would be expected on occasion to spend time at both Hospice locations in St Austell and Hayle, as well as travel throughout Cornwall.

About You: You are an effective communicator, able to work collaboratively and independently, able to implement legacy, major gifts and trust and grant strategies to meet net income targets.
You are process orientated and methodical at managing case work.

You will have experience at soliciting major gifts and be confident in your ability to make your ask at the appropriate time and value.
You are an experienced manager, confident at leading a committed and focused team.
You are solution focused and results driven, used to a target based environment.

You’ll have an analytical approach to assessing acquisition campaigns, able to see where investment is needed and the bigger picture.
You are a passionate fundraiser used to maximising the potential of your supporter profile, whilst always having a clear eye for the finer details.
