SUPPORT WORKER REQUIRED
– SUTTON COLDFIELD / TAMWORTH AREA –
My name is J and I live in Sutton Coldfield. I am nearly 10 years old and I have Cerebral Palsy. This means I find some things difficult and need help with them.
The help I need is listed below:
- Helping me to move around inside and outside of my home
- Bath time, cleaning my teeth
- Getting dressed and undressed
- Making sure I eat and drink well
- Cleaning and tidying my home
- Support with homework
- Completing my therapy programmes
- Sessions in my Hydrotherapy pool or the one in school
- Going out to nice places that I choose
- Travelling on a bus
- Confident driver to drive my Motability car (minimum of 21 years of age due to insurance)
- Going away on holiday with me and my family for at least 3 weeks each year including abroad (minimum wage 24 hrs x 7) whilst on holiday with me.
- Help overnight sometimes too
- Helping my Mum and Dad when they need it
I pay my support workers £11 per hour for week days and £13 per hour for weekend days, unless it is when I am on holiday.
The times when I need this help are:
Week 1 term-time - Regular hours:
Wed – 2.30 pm – 8.30 pm
Thur – 7.00 am – 10.00 am
Fri – 7.00 am – 10.00 am
Week 2 term-time - Regular hours:
Wed – 2.30 pm – 8.30 pm
Thur – 7.00 am – 10.00 am
Fri – 7.00 am – 10.00 am
Fri – 2.30 pm – 8.30 pm
Additional Hours during the school holidays:
Shift pattern during school holidays:
Wed – 8.30 am – 8.30 pm
Fri – 8.30 am – 8.30 pm alternate weeks
Sat – 8.30 am – 8.30 pm monthly
Additional hours will also include cover for other Support Workers when they are on holiday or sick. The hours may change from time-to-time to make sure I get the help when I need it.
About you
Essential:
- you are reliable and professional - you value honesty and discretion
- you are friendly and approachable
- you are flexible, and you work well under pressure
- you have a full, clean UK driving licence
Preferred:
- you have experience of supporting someone with a brain injury or cerebral palsy
