Salary: GBP30-31K plus some overtime available

Working conditions: Day shift, 4 on 4 off, 6.00 to 18.00hrs, 17 days holiday pa hourly paid expect with shift allowance

Role Summary:

The successful applicant will be a member of a multi-functional Engineering team aiming to achieve key targets within their departmental environment, thereby helping to deliver Cost, Quality and Efficiency benefits to the Factory.

Specific responsibilities include:

+ To carry out essential planned maintenance and complete necessary repairs to keep the factory in good working order. Provide electrical maintenance cover through effective and efficient response to plant breakdowns throughout the factory.

+ Involvement in on-going process improvement through-out the factory developing new ideas and better solutions.

+ Monitor & supply Engineering support of machine set-up & changeovers to ensure that the product conforms to any quality assurance standards and ensuring changeovers are as efficient as possible.

+ Daily liaison with the duty Maintenance Supervisor/Engineering Manager to ensure that all production maintenance requirements are undertaken.

+ As a member of the Engineering team promote the development and implementation of the Factory PPM system.

+ As a member of the engineering department applying rigorous application of the Manufacturing System and using TPM Tools & Techniques to generate Continuous Improvement throughout all areas of the Factory.

+ As a member of the Engineering team applying the 5S principles to deliver world-class standards of housekeeping. The Factory is continuously improving and moving forwards and it is essential that the Maintenance Electrician adapts to these changes.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

+ Candidates ideally should be time-served with good fault finding skills.

+ Minimum requirements for qualification are to City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering.

+ Demonstrable Knowledge & Expertise in Fault-finding and Diagnostic Skills on Industrial Plant & Equipment.

+ An understanding of PLC equipment and program editing, ideally on Siemens S5 and S7 systems. + Capable of writing original PLC programs and interrogating control systems.

+ Knowledge of Frequency Inverters, Motor Controls, Safety Circuits.

+ High degree of Health & Safety awareness.

+ Ability to fault find, repair and provide solutions to problems.

+ Basic Mechanical Fitting Skills are desirable, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.

+ Experience of a modern manufacturing environment in particular automated plant
