We are absolutely devoted to supporting mental health sufferers and their families, and our meaningful philanthropic approach brings positive, lasting change to people’s lives.

We have one simple but powerful pledge: to fight and redress mental health injustices.

And now we want you to join our team. We are looking for a Volunteer and Community Fundraising Manager

About the role:

You will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of the Shaw Mind Foundation volunteer projects programme including strategic development. You will have an eye for spotting and developing new volunteering opportunities and you will use your knowledge to identify the key motivators and influencing factors which will help us to develop and sustain a successful volunteer community.

The role will act as the first point of reference on volunteering policy and procedure across the Shaw Mind Foundation enthusiastically delivering training to employees, managing reporting for the function, tracking volunteer hours and delegating details as necessary with careful and timely follow up. The Volunteer and Community Fundraising Manager will be responsible for managing the Volunteer Coordinator and will have significant demonstrable experience of working in a volunteer management and fundraising capacity.

About you:

As an experienced, proactive volunteer Manager, you will have a sound knowledge not just of volunteer management practices, but also of current national volunteering guidelines and recommendations. With a collaborative and adaptable approach, you will be a skilled project manager with the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales. Experience of public speaking, and excellent IT skills are also essential as is significant proven experience of collaborative working.

The successful candidate will instinctively use their initiative, and creativity and have the ability to make decisions quickly and be confident in being accountable for these.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Volunteer and Community Fundraising Manager will lead in the development and delivery of the Shaw Mind Foundation’s volunteer programme, including the management of the volunteering budget; achieving results which are aligned with the larger picture of the organisation and its strategic goals and play a pivotal role in raising the profile of the Shaw Mind Foundation by acting as an ambassador for the organisation at relevant networking events and opportunities.

If you feel you have the competitive drive and innovation to succeed in this essential role, we look forward to hearing from you. Although not essential, applications will be particularly welcome from those with a charity sector background and with lived experience of mental health difficulties.
