Locality Manager

Locality Manager- Give&TakeCare- Based in Leicester Full time

We are looking for a self-motivated Locality Manager for a partnership scheme that brings together Sahkar and Give&TakeCare CIC.

 As a befriending service co-ordinator, you will oversee an innovative time-banking scheme, which will improve befriending support for older adults in Leicestershire.

The successful candidate will need to be have excellent communication skills, excellent time-management skills, good administration and IT skills, manage the local social media page and be able to approach and persuade different stakeholders to join the scheme. The role is for someone who is self-motivated and able to be the driving force behind this project, using their initiative to engage the community. It is important that you have some familiarity with basic IT packages, that you consent to a DBS check (Enhanced and barring list level), and that you have a clean UK driving Licence and your own vehicle available for business use.

 Your role and remit will include recruiting volunteers and match their skills with the needs of older adults who need befriending using our bespoke IT system, also to complete DBS checks and ensure volunteers complete training. You will also complete all relevant paperwork for the sign-up of volunteers and older people who wish to access this service, send monthly reports through the IT system to G&TC, manage the social media outputs, keep in touch with G&TC HQ and give feedback on all aspects of the scheme to G&TC to help with improvements and evaluations. The locality Manager will also need to attend events to promote the scheme.

Training will be provided on adult Safeguarding, DBS vetting, the G&TC IT system and various mandatory e-learning packages. The successful candidate will also complete train-the-trainer adult safeguarding certification to deliver basic awareness training to all volunteers Full support will be given to the Locality Manager by our dedicated business development team.

Package

This is a fixed term contract ending on 31^st August 2018 that will hopefully be extended and eventually, if the scheme is successful, become permanent. The post is full time, Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week (9am – 5:30pm daily); salary - £18k per year plus pension contribution.
