The Opportunity
An exciting and challenging role to drive the integration and functional qualification of the Land Ceptor Weapon System across the layers of the system (i.e. software, sub-system and systems.) in support of the key qualifications events, including a Demonstrating Firing, leading up to formal Acceptance with the UK Customer. The Land Ceptor Weapon System is part of a portfolio of MBDA products supporting MBDAs national and export market with a Ground Based Air Defence Capability

The role will involve regular engagement with Chief Systems Engineer/Chief Engineer to drive the project forwards, making balanced risk judgements in support of proving certification, plus also reconciliation and regression.

The Role

- System Engineer working in the functional design area of the Land Ceptor Weapon System team responsible for the co-ordination of functional integration and proving across the weapon system.
- Ensuring that the integration and proving of all functional chains is defined, and for all chains, facilitate joint working between the differing engineering functions (for example, systems, ISV, software and algorithms).
- Support definition of 'integration sprints to bring together the components of the system in a co-ordinated fashion, managing software points of embodiment (PoE) across the subsystems to ensure delivered equipment will interoperate within the Test and Integration Facility.
- Systems support to resolution of proving incidents, working across the project team to ensure that proving incidents identified during integration and trials are understood, and that a resolution is agreed.
- The role will involve regular engagement with Chief Systems Engineer/Chief Engineer to drive the project forwards, making balanced risk judgements in support of proving certification, plus also reconciliation and regression.

- The successful candidate will ideally have a relevant engineering related degree (or higher) along with experience operating across the system / software engineering boundary and be able to manage both the technical complexity of integrating a maturing product and influencing stakeholders to ensure a successful and realistic integration programme.
- The candidate will require the skills and behaviours to manage a small team in a highly fluid environment as integration programme evolves whilst ensuring the wider team are focussed on addressing the critical risk areas
