Our client are a leading manufacturer of a wide range of adhesives, sealants, coatings, cement additives and waterproofing materials supplying into the transportation, industrial, construction and DIY / consumer markets. 

Their brands and products are trusted and used by millions of satisfied customers all over the world. Every day, their products are used to deliver high quality solutions and consistent performance for their customers.

They are seeking a Development Chemist to join their R&D Construction and Consumer (C&C) team based in Stafford. As one of their Development Chemist you will take responsibility for specific projects on new product development, product performance, costs and technical support to other business functions and customers.

The role will involve a number of key activities which will include identifying and exploring potential new product or market opportunities, as well as continually acquiring and transferring knowledge with regard to novel polymers and chemicals, technologies and testing methods. The ability to communicate and interact effectively will be critical in order to develop strategic partnerships with suppliers.

They are looking for an enthusiastic, confident individual with a practical and thorough approach to problem solving. You will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills which will enable you to make a positive contribution to the Research & Development team. Good IT literacy skills are a prerequisite for the role.

The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level in Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science or a closely related subject. Experience in a manufacturing environment formulating adhesives, sealant, coatings or similar products would be advantageous.

The role will require some travel within the UK and occasionally Europe and a full clean driving licence is required.
