"Mobile Phones" is the most dynamic product area with varied brands from relatively niche new entrants to the worlds largest and the most iconic (Apple, Samsung, Google, LG to name a few!).
This new role offers the opportunity to help the development of existing and new elements across the mobile phone portfolio within the Phone Buying Team. Working within this team, cross functionally and directly with suppliers you will be at the forefront in helping create and shape the changes within the market for our customers giving a unique, broad level of experience and understanding of our business
The type of person needs a can do attitude, organised, creativity and strong analytical skills with the ability to construct and present new ideas to the business to continually innovate. The level of the role will require high energy and excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with key stake holders from in store operations, online, marketing, to suppliers.
You will:
- Establish credible relationships with suppliers to ensure the best cost, best supply and best delivery for our customers
- Be aware of market activity and continually using this information to ensure that the category is performing
- Work side by side with the merchandisers to ensure all metrics are hit across sales and stock
- Provide feedback and challenge on the commercial processes to ensure that we continually make improvements to better deliver for our customers
- Contribute to projects within the Commercial team and the wider Dixons Retail Group
You will have:
- Good numerical and analytical skills to be capable of monitoring market changes, competitor prices and products, and past sales patterns to forecast demand
- Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills to enable successful negotiations with suppliers
- Precise judgment and strong decision-making skills to enable the right actions for the category
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting within senior forums
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel
