Are you an experienced Shift Manager looking for a new and challenging role?
A manufacturer of a wide range of toiletry products, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices is currently recruiting for a brilliant shift manager to take on this business critical role.
As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the planned output as agreed with the Planning team. Through a right first time mentality, you will meet or exceed the production targets. An essential part of the role is to ensure that plan is delivered on time, ensuring that both quality and efficiency are adhered to. You are responsible for Line Managers, Operators, Utility Operators and Temporary staff. You will ensure that GMP standards are maintained and adhered to.
The primary function of the Shift Manager is to deliver the production schedule and facilitate continuous improvement
Responsibilities:
- Maintain visibility on the shop floor, driving performance of the team and support functions to deliver the production plan.
- You will learn and understand all key cost aspects of the production floor, including labour costs, wastage costs, downtime costs, and productivity.
- You will improve labour costs, by accurately recording the labour efficiency and labour rate, delivering improvements of 20% and 50% respectively.
- Work with the production manager, agree both short and long-term plans to ensure continuous improvement is carried out in area that is obstructing productivity improvements.
- Utilise both permanent and temporary staff, ensuring that all personnel needs are met.
- Manage attendance and absenteeism, deal with any issues that arise, working with HR is necessary to resolve them.
- Ensure compliance to all site Health & Safety regulations.
- Proactively support the site HS&E agenda. complete incident/accident investigations at the time of the event to get to the root cause
- Proactively support/contribute to the site quality agenda.
- Ensure that Quality expectations are adhered to at all times
What you'll need to succeed:
- You will need previous experience working with a production setting
- Previous experience managing staff
- Previous experience working to production schedules
- Previous experience within a GMP/Pharmaceutical environment.
This is a 39 hours rotating shift patten.
