Our Clients desktops are a key component to the running of the business. Due to increasing demands, they are looking for a Desktop Support Analyst to deal with a wide and varied selection of requests supporting the wider business.

The Role

An average day will be diverse and offer an opportunity to learn a multitude of technologies running on the desktop estate. You will have a strong interest in IT and be looking to develop your skills further. You will be investigating and resolving a variety of requests working closely with their Service Desk and engineering teams. You will have exceptional customer service and an understanding of SLAs. This role is suited to an individual who is keen to learn and develop but enjoys owning a problem, seeing it through to resolution.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the desktop estate, resolving requests and incidents through to resolution.
  • Work with the Service Desk and the engineering teams to ensure the desktop estate is functioning optimally.
  • Performing desktop builds and updating of software packages using SCCM 2012R2.
  • Perform proactive maintenance across the desktop estate.
  • Responsibility for ensure patching and antivirus updates are correctly applied to the desktops.
  • Responsible for desktop hardware and upgrades.
  • Management of the printers across the building

Requirements

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Grade C or above in Maths & English GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Educated to AS / A Level (or equivalent)
  • Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10
  • SCCM 2012 software packaging
  • Desktop Hardware
  • Microsoft Office troubleshooting
  • Good numerical skills.
  • Organised
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage own workload.
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work and perform in a high pressurised environment
  • Confident
  • Hardworking
  • Patient, diligent and diplomatic.
  • Risk Aware

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  • Degree educated
  • MCSA or above in Microsoft Desktop Technologies
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Active Directory
  • Desktop Security products (antivirus, antispam, etc)
  • Nexthink
  • Papercut
  • Mac Desktop Support
  • 3 years' experience supporting Windows Desktops.
  • Experience of working in a financial services environment
  • Technical documentation of solutions
  • Ability to analyse and problem solve.
  • Pro-active, resourceful and able to use initiative
  • Willingness to learn, develop, and keep abreast of technological developments
