Penguin recruitment are delighted to be working with one of the UK's leading Planning & Design consultancies who, as part of a strategic growth plan are looking to making three appointments to their Cambridge office.

The office has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially minded Town Planner to join their growing team to work on a broad range of planning projects. The candidate will play a key part in delivering the team's existing work requirements as well as assisting with further growth across the region and beyond.

The successful candidate will join this supportive team environment to work on a diverse range of projects in the residential, commercial, energy and infrastructure sectors, of various types and scales, including exciting regeneration and place making opportunities. In addition, you will enjoy outstanding professional development and career opportunities from the UK's leading practice in a unique role that combines a personal approach with a big experience.

Key responsibilities of the role includes:

-Promoting residential, commercial, energy and infrastructure developments (both Brownfield and Greenfield) and coordinating professional teams in the preparation and submission of major planning application

-Co-ordination of project teams and project management

-Conducting research and site appraisals on projects for our client base

-Preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications

-Preparation of planning and economic statements

-Policy representations

-Developing client relationships

The successful candidate with have both excellent technical Planning skills and will be expected to help with planning and delivering projects along with developing both new and existing client relationships.

Job requirements

Are MRTPI qualified or working towards it? Do you have strong planning experience, particularly working on residential developments? Do you have an ability to undertake quantitative and sequential assessments and have an eye for detail? Are personable and have a strong team ethos with excellent organisational and project management skills? Do you have strong communication skills and hold a full UK driving licence?
