Who we are:

We design and manufacture high quality custom electronics, specialising in photonics. Our clients include some of the best known companies and laboratories worldwide. Our three core product areas are laser controllers for high power lasers and spectroscopy, optimised OEM subsystems for photonics, and data acquisition boards with Digital Signal Processors.

Through collaborative research with industrial and academic partners, we’re also working on health, space and quantum applications.

We are a small, dedicated, friendly team of high performers. We’re growing and we’re looking for an Electronics Design engineer to join us.

Electronics Design Engineer Main responsibilities:

As Electronics Design Engineer you will be involved in the whole design/product lifecycle. The role will include designing electronic circuits, modifying firmware, running simulations, building and testing prototypes, fault finding, making improvements and putting together documentation.

You will also be involved in Innovate UK projects on quantum technologies. This would suit an engineer who is excited to bring new products to market and to work on projects at the forefront of photonics.

We’re looking for someone with:

+ a degree or equivalent in Physics or Electronic engineering
+ experience of electronics design, both analogue and digital
+ basic understanding of thermal management
+ experience with Altium and circuit simulation (Pspice)
+ experience of embedded software (C is essential, labview would be an advantage)
+ ability to produce product documentation
+ a “can do” mentality to deliver practical engineering solutions
+ practical ability (soldering, validation testing)
