The School of Foundation Studies has an exciting opportunity for a Transition Support Worker to join their School.
This a fantastic opportunity for the right person to utilise and develop their knowledge, skills and experience of working with young people with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities.
You will be working within the School of Foundation Studies to develop and support our transition work for students leaving school and entering education in FE.
You will be responsible for building rapport, and developing relationships with individuals involved in the transition, enabling you to understand the student's individual needs and requirements in order to be fully supportive. It is essential you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills which can be adapted appropriately, whilst showing empathy for student needs.
The right candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing needs of the students and college. They will also be able to evidence their experience of working in partnership with others to support young people.
Applicants will hold a Level 2 in Maths and English along with a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject. Experience working with vulnerable adults with a learning disability or mental health illness and challenging behaviour is essential.
This post is for 18.5 hours per week.
