Graduate Lecturer - Mechanical Engineering

Salary: Circa GBP24,000

(will be increased upon successful completion of teaching qualification)

Hours: Full time (37 Hours per week)

Successful candidates do not need previous experience of teaching, and through funding for "SET for Teaching Success" provided by the Education and Training Foundation, we can offer you an opportunity to obtain a full Teaching Qualification (Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training). You will follow our graduate trainee lecturer scheme while studying and our professional and experienced lecturers and dedicated Teaching and Learning Mentor will provide mentoring support and guidance.

Candidates must hold a degree (or higher) in related subjects and should have knowledge in the key subjects:-

• Health and Safety in the Engineering Workplace
• Mathematics for Engineering Technicians
• Mechanical Principles and Applications
• Applications of Mechanical Systems in Engineering
• Engineering Drawing for Technicians
• Computer Aided Drafting
• Electro, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems
• Properties and Applications of Engineering Materials
• Project and Communications

Practical skills for teaching Milling and Turning would be an advantage.

Successful candidates will be highly motivated, flexible, possess exceptional organisational skills, work well with colleagues and have a creative and innovative approach.
