Hackney is London's most diverse and dynamic borough. Stretching from the edge of the City, to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, it is an area of rapid economic growth, particularly in the tech, media, fashion and other creative industries. Hackney has more green space than any other inner London borough, some of the capital's best schools, and first class transport connections, which combined with excellent local public services and a thriving arts, cultural and retail sector, are fast making it one of London's most popular areas to live, work and visit. Our challenge is to make sure that our borough's economic growth provides benefits for everyone who lives here, and to create opportunities that will transform the lives of local people.
We know that our staff are key to our success and we are seeking people with ambition, creativity and commitment to our values to help us achieve the best for the people of Hackney.
Hackney's Neighbourhoods & Housing directorate is on an exciting journey towards achieving outstanding results across all areas of service provision and we are very proud of what we have achieved over the last few years. Our aim is to be a leading performer for waste and enforcement related services. In order to achieve this aim we are constantly monitoring and improving the service that we deliver.
This is a permanent position sitting within Environment and Waste Strategy Team, working across the areas of waste, estate cleaning and recycling. You will be responsible for managing and progressing all aspects of GIS and Asset Management functions within the team. You will have lead responsibility for the provision of GIS support to these vital frontline services and the Ward Improvement Programme. This is a fast paced environment with your GIS data being passed to senior managers within the authority. Your work will be high profile, helping to support strategic decisions for the authority to develop Waste Collection, Street Cleansing, Recycling, Waste Minimisation, Local Environmental Quality (LEQ) and Estate Cleaning services.
