Graduate Teaching Assistant Specification

For this Graduate TA role you must be a reliable and confident graduate who ideally holds a 2:1 degree and has already spent time in a role where you have worked closely with children. We want to meet graduates who can be ready to fully contribute to extra-curricular activities and act as a role model to their students and fellow colleagues. You will have the ability to inspire and enthuse your students with your engaging and charismatic personality. You will fully appreciate the importance of education and demonstrate this by being fully committed to the Graduate Teaching Assistant role.

About the Graduate Teaching Assistant role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, your role will involve you supporting the class teacher within a Key Stage 1 or 2 class. The school offers an excellent induction programme to ensure those who are new to teaching are supported and can find their feet quickly. Your responsibilities will include acting as the lead for intervention groups and 1:1 sessions and supporting the planning and preparation of whole-class lessons. You will need to act as a positive role model in order to help pupils to overcome barriers to learning.
