Senior Events ManagerAn opportunity has arisen to join the Amnesty International Governance programme team to lead the international meetings unit in its delivery of the movement's new highest decision making body - the Global Assembly.ABOUT THE ROLEThis role is responsible for managing international meetings organised by the meetings unit - the largest output being the annual meeting of the Global Assembly, Amnesty International's highest decision making body with approximately 330 attendees. The role is also responsible for other meetings and events that fall under the remit of the Governance programme, such as International Board or regional meetings, and provides regular advice and guidance to all programmes within the International Secretariat who organise international meetings, through setting best practice and running workshops. The main purpose of the role is to ensure multilingual meetings are organised effectively, delivered to a high standard, and ensure value for money for the movement - enabling leaders to meet effectively and achieve maximum impact for their human rights work.The role also line manages two members of staff and oversees the departmental budget for events.ABOUT YOU You have a strong background in event management and are extremely organised and love working collaboratively - even in the most challenging circumstances. You keep a steady course when under pressure, focusing on the delivery of high quality outputs. You are confident sharing your informed opinion and are flexible, used to an environment of continuous improvement. You also know how to manage and motivation large event teams.You enjoy working across a number of different areas of work, from producing a budget spreadsheet to overseeing a team of 30 staff during a large event You are articulate and confident, communicate effectively in person and in writing and can keep on top of a busy workload to ensure deadlines are met.The successful candidate will have experience in senior project management as-well as event management, working with external contractors and senior directors within an organisation.ABOUT USAmnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people who campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all.
