Job Title AVP Controls and MI Regulatory Capital Reporting, Glasgow

Location: Glasgow

Barclays International Capital & Risk Information Services (CRIS) is a shared service within Barclays, focusing on the delivery and management of core quantitative risk management tools. The department focuses on a number of key functions such as Regulatory and capital analysis and reporting, to support business units across Barclays.

The position sits within the Barclays International Regulatory Capital Consolidation team who are responsible for reporting leverage, credit, counterparty credit, market and operational risk to internal and external stakeholders. It involves supporting the delivery of critical Barclays projects impacting regulatory capital reporting/management, including BCBS239, Structural Reform and enhancing existing reporting services/processes, reporting key management regulatory performance indicators, providing stakeholder support and identifying/implementing enhancements.

Your Role

The candidate will be expected to support the BI Consolidation team across a number of key areas including, but not limited to:

Controls

Oversee and support the implementation of controls:

  • Work with upstream teams to define and document key controls.
  • Work with the BI consolidation team to review existing controls and identify changes required.
  • Support the team to implement the control changes and track the progress of changes.
  • Prepare for and provide updates to senior management.
  • Implement relevant documentation, to ensure controls are implemented, documented and subject to periodic review and challenge.

Projects

Provide support across full project life cycle:

  • Development of business case for project prioritisation/initiation.
  • Work independently to develop, validate and document business requirements and input into solution design where necessary.
  • Participate in testing cycles, support defect resolution and implementation (ie transition from test to live environments).
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate policies ie End Use Computing, NMCT Non-Modelled Calculation Tools etc

Reporting

Provide support across all regulatory reporting activities:

  • Production of daily, monthly and quarterly reporting and the supporting underlying detail to facilitate the business in managing capital and operating within predetermined limits
  • Production of internal management reports to the business areas in support of capital optimisation initiatives
  • Process reengineering to create efficiencies in current processes

Essential Skills

  • Previous capital reporting or analysis experience in either leverage, credit, counterparty credit, market and operational risk
  • MS Excel, Access and Visio knowledge

Desirable Skills

  • Ability to work well in teams and also independently as required.
  • Able to quickly grasp new concepts and apply existing knowledge (business, product, systems, controls) in order to identify and resolve issues.
  • Challenging and questioning approach/Concern for quality/Able to pay attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and balance priorities/Strong organisational skills/ability to multi-task
  • Qualifications/education - University degree or equivalent
