An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager to take up a challenging role as part of the site Executive Leadership Team, reporting to the Supply Chain Director, based in Cockermouth, Cumbria.

 

You will be an engaging individual with the ability to build great relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.  You will use your knowledge and consultative approach to get things done and your ‘can do’ attitude will ensure that you make things happen and deliver an excellent customer experience.   

 

The Quality Managers’ Main responsibilities of this role will include:

•             To develop, motivate and proactively lead the Quality Assurance Team, ensuring exceptional standards of service provision and performance are maintained at all times

•             Maintain, audit and develop the company Quality Management System: AS9100 & ISO9001 ensuring compliance

•             Ensure and enable the availability of quality information, quality of inspection and control of documentation

•             Maintain, improve and drive forward shop floor processes by promoting and enforcing compliance to the Quality Management System

•             Ensure internal audits are maintained and reported on to ensure product and process conformity

•             Lead and facilitate investigations on high level quality concerns raised and ensure corrective action

•             Promote continuous improvement initiatives and challenge working practises with the view to seeking better ways of doing things and raising the standards

•             To ensure customer delivery times are achieved through maintaining product conformity

•             Contribute to a quality customer focused ethos promoting a ‘right first time, can do’ culture across the business

 

The successful Quality Manager must:

•             Have a Lead Auditor Qualification

•             Be able to demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills

•             Have a passion for what they do, and take responsibility for getting things done

•             Be able to build great relationships with both internal and external customers

•             Use their knowledge to fully understand their customer needs and make a difference

•             Continually challenge their own practice, looking for new ways to improve and inspire others to change for better

 

Ideally you will have experience of working in a Nuclear, Oil and Gas, or Aerospace industry and be qualified to degree level with an in depth knowledge of AS9100 & ISO9001. In addition you will also have a thorough understanding of quality tools and continuous improvement knowledge.
