Principal Engineer (SDS Training Specialist)

Would you like to play a key role in the provision of training services for the UK's Submarine service? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Engineer (Training Specialist) at our Broad Oak site in Portsmouth.

As a Training Specialist within the Submarine Design Services (SDS) team, you will be providing training analysis, design, and assurance for the submarine platform, which will be delivered to Royal Navy personnel.

This role will provide you with the unique opportunity to influence the development of a new area of the business, leading to exciting progression opportunities as the team grows.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Engineer (SDS Training Specialist) will involve:

Delivering the support to the Astute Class Training Providers (ACTP) in both In-Service and Submarine Build Contracts

Providing training specialist support to In-Service and Submarine Build Contracts

Taking a lead on the assessment, processing, research and timely answering of data requests from the Astute Class Training Providers (ACTP)

Delivering data to the ACTPs, maintaining records on the appropriate query databases, and ensuring correct accounting is undertaken for security and export control

Being responsible to the Line Manager, for the conduct for one or more TNAs, in accordance with the associated project policies, standards and processes, and LCM HB 07/07

Being responsible to the Line Manager for the conduct of learning design, in accordance with associated project policies, standards and processes, aligned to the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT)

Being responsible to the Line Manager for the development and delivery of training media - (including but not limited to CAI and CBT), to support the learning specifications

Undertaking of internal and external evaluation tasks aligned to training support activities.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Experience in training analysis, design, or assurance

Experience in the Maritime Defence Industry

Strong IT Skills

Desirable:

Knowledge of Royal Navy organisation / MoD operations

Knowledge/ experience of submarine design or operation

Experience in training software applications
