So what’s the job?

We are currently recruiting for a PHP Developer who will join an experienced and committed team to help us maintain and create new systems that will drive us to become Europe’s number one online pet retailer. This is a diverse role, developing solutions for our Warehouse, Call Centre and Website. We are a single-site office in the UK, with ambitions to grow our presence across Europe. Whether it’s OSX, Windows or Linux you are free to work in the environment that suits you.

The important bit:

+ £30,000 - £40,000 per year depending on experience
+ Permanent, full time – 37.5 hours per week, flexible
+ Location: Luton (Near J11 M1)

What you must have:

+ Minimum three years’ programming experience
+ Knowledge of web technologies such as PHP 5.4+, HTML5, CSS3, Javascript & jQuery
+ Experience with object-orientated programming
+ Experience with SQL, ideally MariaDB/MySQL
+ Write well-structured and efficient code

What we’d like you to have:

+ Experienced with Symfony frameworks or similar
+ Experience with Elasticsearch, Nginx, SASS, Git, Vagrant and Docker
+ Experience with testing e.g. PHPUnit and Selenium
+ A basic understanding of the German language would be advantageous but not essential
