A global Support Services company is looking for a highly talented Head of HR to help drive Organisational Development initiatives that add value to the business unit strategy. This person will lead the people strategy and will need to meet operational HR demands, whilst working with the Support Services Director.

The role is for someone who can operate at the strategic level who has the necessary experience and gravitas to successfully represent the function.

Crucial Experience

  • Experience driving Organisational development
  • At least 5 years' experience within HR
  • Ability to work flexibly in an ever changing environment
  • Experience in a Complex Multi-national business

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the People strategy in support of achieving the BU and Sector Business and growth strategies
  • Input into the design and delivery of a robust HR operating model to both drive strategic HR initiatives and meet operational HR demands
  • Support senior managers in the constructive management of trade union relationships, consultation, pay and negotiation
  • Provision of strong functional support and leadership at a senior level and to the HR team
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with senior managers whilst providing expert strategic and operational advice and guidance
  • Mentor, coach and develop managers to improve performance
  • Support strategic business initiatives and change management, including acquisition, due diligence, business integration, structural change and business planning
  • Support organisational development and the achievement of business objectives, ensuring these are effectively cascaded throughout the BU
  • In liaison with the Learning & Development Team and other colleagues, analyse training needs, create and sign off development plans and analyse learning and development activity
  • Accountable for strategic resourcing, talent management and succession planning
  • Manage and control budgeted resource levels, both in terms of headcount and also financially
  • Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times

Skills Required

  • Experience and evidence of working at a strategic level delivering high performance through inspiring leadership
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law
  • Experience of working in a commercial environment
  • Experience of working in an environment with a diverse range of employment terms and conditions and within a multi-site organisation
  • Ability to build and maintain close-working relationships and networks at a senior level and manage complex range of global stakeholders
  • Ability to provide commercially focused HR solutions across the HR function
  • Ability to coach and mentor management
  • Ability to interpret business objectives and transform these into individual objectives
