Plant Operative

Are you an experienced Landfill, Warehouse or Plant Operative looking to take on a new challenge? If so Viridor are recruiting and are looking for individuals just like you!

Due to continued success and growth, we are now looking to recruit a Plant Operative for our team at Lean Quarry Transfer Station in Liskeard, working 50 hours a week.

In return for your hard work as our Plant Operative, we can offer a salary of £28,824 per annum plus excellent benefits, pension scheme and plenty of opportunity for personal development; working within in a team-orientated and collaborative environment, for a company that strives to be environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.

The ideal Plant Operative:

• General knowledge of waste and recycling and experience of plant operation
• Previous experience of using moving plant (Loading Shovels, Fork Lift Trucks, Bobcat)
• Full driving licence.
• CITB certificate in machine operation

Plant Operative Responsibilities include:

• Assist in the safe and efficient day-to-day operations of the Lean Quarry Transfer Station
• Safely and competently operate mobile plant and equipment to stockpile and load waste and recyclables
• Direct vehicles to appropriate areas and act as reversing assistant if required
• Operate machines in a safe manner, loading accurately so as to prevent damage
• Carry out various maintenance and housekeeping tasks
