JOB TITLE: Support Worker

SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP8.00 per hour plus enhancements for weekend shifts and bank holidays

WORKING HOURS: Full / Part Time hours

THE COMPANY: Our client is a group of social enterprises focused on health and wellbeing with over 25 years experience, working in local communities and meeting the needs of local people. They need need motivated Support Workers to join their friendly team in Southampton.

THE ROLE: For the role of the Support Worker, you will work without direct supervision in the home of the customer providing care and support including personal, social and domestic support whilst adhering to the customer's individual care and support plan.

Key Responsibilities for the Support Worker role to include:-

To assist customers with personal care needs of the particular service as detailed in their individual care plan. This will include help with personal care, helping to dress, cooking, local shopping and some housework and laundry.
Read and follow the care plan within the customer's home, carrying out the particular tasks as detailed for the visit.
Ensure all written records are factual, accurate and ensure a log sheet is completed at the end of each visit.
To assist the customer with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence, using aids and personal equipment.
Encourage independence of the customer and not foster dependent behaviour.

THE CANDIDATE: For the role of Support Worker, you will be a reliable and flexible team player. You will be friendly, kind, honest, reassuring and an effective communicator. You share the company's goal of delivering excellent care to the residents and you will need to live within a commutable distance to Southampton.

Key experience essential for the role of Support Worker :-

Understanding of the health and social care sector and the provision of person centred care in the community
Experience of working within a care environment is desirable but not essential
NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or other professional qualification in care or willingness to train towards a qualification
Full, valid driving licence and access to reliable motorised transport
