Exciting opportunity not to be missed! TSYS Managed Services has a unique opportunity available for a Facilities Technician to join the team in Coventry. The role is a full time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of £22,000 - £25,000 DOE plus excellent benefits.
TSYS MS EMEA are currently recruiting for a Facilities Technician to be based at our site in Binley, Coventry on a full time, permanent basis. The Facilities Technicians primary responsibility is to assist the Facilities Manager with hands on operational facilities management and maintenance i.e. premises and equipment, whilst ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety legislative requirements whilst being an Ambassador for the department, providing an effective interface between the Facilities Management Department, internal customers and external contractors and suppliers.
What are the responsibilities of the Facilities Technician?
- To provide and maintain an appropriate and comfortable working environment for all TMS employees.
- Complete regular Site Inspections and resolve any defects promptly.
- Manage the DSE Workstation Assessment Programme, including the basic assessment, along with specialist assessments, i.e., Expectant Mothers, Young Persons, Lone Workers, etc.
- Liaise with the Facilities/Building Manager on the Emergency Evacuation Drill programme, ensuring Drills are carried out within correct timescales, briefings are held and any issues highlighted are resolved appropriately.
- Lead the Fire Warden and First Aiders teams, ensuring training and procedures are up to date.
- Ensure First Aid kits remain up to date and are fully stocked.
- To investigate and maintain records of any on site Accidents / Incidents.
- Carry out Site Tours and Inductions as required.
- Manage COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) within the premises.
- To manage and maintain the access control system in line with the Physical Security Policy.
- Ensure that access badges are issued and access is removed in a timely manner and reported to the Compliance Team
- Ensure maintenance of all new and existing equipment and buildings where under our demise.
- General portering duties within the buildings, delivery of incoming packages, office supplies, etc.
- Manage the on-site Facilities Management Helpdesk, ensuring all requests are actioned efficiently.
- Monitor stock control and place orders for consumables, stationery and other items
- Sort incoming post and frank outgoing post
- First point of contact for Facilities Management support for out of hour’s issues and emergency incidents.
- Work with the Facilities Manager from initial planning stage through to completion on office refurbishment and office relocation projects, both internal and external.
What skills do I need to have to become the Facilities Technician?
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Good IT skills e.g. Microsoft packages
- Ability to frequently bend, lift and carry materials and equipment throughout the day
- Health & Safety knowledge
- Handyperson/General maintenance skills
- Up to date knowledge and good understanding of building services (e.g. HVAC, plumbing etc.)
- Full UK driving license and access to transport
- The ability to be mobile, and respond to issues outside of normal working hours as agreed / required
- The flexibility to attend other TMS sites to cover for absent personnel during annual leave etc
