Job Title: Production Control Assistant

Purpose

To plan and control the supply of Defence systems products through manufacturing & supply chain

Liaise with all departments to ensure timely manufacture of customer orders are achieved, customer requirements met and sales targets satisfied

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Ensure work order pick lists and drawing packs are raised and expedited to meet timely scheduled requirements through the various departments
• Liaise with the purchasing department to expedite or progress delivery of products to ensure meeting manufacturing & customer requirements.
• Liaise with all manufacturing departments to progress and prioritise work through to timely completion
• Prepare and distribute reports for weekly progress meetings.
• Carry out checks on completed route card ensuring readiness for scanning/archiving
• Run & facilitate small projects using Gant charts or MS Project if required.
• Carry out other additional departmental Administration tasks.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Internal:

Responsible for assisting in the production control department through monitoring and liaising with other departments as appropriate.

PERSON PROFILE

The candidate should be numerate, literate, hardworking, organised and possess a pleasant manner with a methodical approach to their work. They should be a self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative or as part of a team with a willingness to learn.

EXPERIENCE/ACHIEVEMENTS

Essential

• To be able work across cross functional departments and the ability to communicate at different levels
• Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload appropriately.
• Methodical approach to their work with the necessary attention to detail.
• Worked in a factory environment
• A person with the right attributes and a willingness to learn who does not have the desired level of knowledge and experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of traceability would be an advantage

Desirable Previous manufacturing or production control Knowledge & knowledge of traceability would be an advantage

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Essential Proficient competence with Microsoft office, outlook, Word & Excel
