Your new company A national regulatory body working within the healthcare sector as seeking an experienced professional to join their Cardiff office as Policy and External Affairs Manager, on a permanent basis. Your new role As Policy and External Affairs Manager, you will lead the small team to support effective management of policy and external affairs matters and to provide senior management with appropriate evidence based policy, public and external affairs analysis and advice. In this role you will also oversee the proactive management of external stakeholder relationships, as well as foster collaborative and effective working relationships with colleagues within the Wales office and across the UK wide organisation. You will represent the office at internal meetings and external events, meetings and public speaking engagements as well as deputise for the Head of department as required. What you'll need to succeed The successful candidate will have expertise and insight in policy and external affairs as well as be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the Wales political and health policy landscape and priorities including how they relate to medical regulation. You will also have significant experience in advising senior figures within an organisation, including executive level colleagues. You will have excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills, including experience of representing an organisation with senior level external stakeholders. The salary is paying up to 46,500 per annum, with salaries of up to GBP50,000 considered for exceptional applications. This role is based in their Cardiff Bay offices. Hours are 35 hours a week with the opportunity to work flexibly. Annual leave starts at 25days, increasing every year to a maximum of 30 days, with the option to buy/sell leave.
