Overall Responsibilities:

To provide effective and appropriate information and advice to all initial enquiries from potential students and to track progression through to enrolment, maintaining close liaison with other Admission Officers, tutors, Guidance, Student Services, Registry and Marketing Departments.

Main Duties:

  1. To respond effectively and appropriately to all direct and referred enquiries via face-to-face, telephone, mail, email, text within agreed timescales, demonstrating excellent customer service and promoting Colchester Institute provision to all enquirers.
  2. To provide both general and specific curriculum information from approved sources, and provide first line information about alternative external educational opportunities as appropriate.
  3. To develop specialist knowledge and provide detailed advice relating to specific course areas e.g. relevant learning styles, progression routes, specific entry requirements, etc.
  4. To support students from, and those with English as a Second Language, with their applications to Colchester Institute, undertaking international fee assessments and initial support as required.
  5. To assist in the accurate and efficient processing of applications and enrolments for further education and international applicants in line with college policy and procedures.
  6. To process DBS applications in accordance with DBS and Colchester Institute procedures.
  7. To maintain and promote effective links with Admission Tutors and other College teams, and keep up-to-date on curriculum developments.
  8. To contribute to the maintenance and development of a high quality information and advice service by adhering to the matrix quality standard.
  9. To process a daily workload as required by the Further Education and International Admissions Team Leader
  10. Work to promote and apply the College's Safeguarding and Child Protection policy and practices.
  11. To actively promote equality and diversity in all aspects of the role.
  12. To develop productive working relationships within the Student Services and Support team.
