The Whitechapel Centre and SHAP Ltd are Liverpool City Region based charities which provide support to people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, and / or have support needs. We offer help with building confidence, developing independent living skills and supporting people to address substance use or other health and wellbeing issues. We also help people to access social and community networks, training, education and employment.

Whitechapel and SHAP in partnership with Liverpool City Council, are to provide a harm reduction service within a supported accommodation setting for up to 33 people who have a range of substance misuse/mental health/physical health needs. 

The aim of the service is to increase individuals’ sense of confidence, independence and recovery and enable them to make positive changes in their lives.

Applications are now invited against the following vacancy which is being offered as a 3 month temporary contract in the first instance pending a review of service requirements:

We`re looking for someone who has a genuine interest in cooking, to provide a nutritious and varied diet for residents living in supported accommodation. Passionate about delivering a quality service to our service users you will be responsible for working with volunteers to prepare essential meals, Monday to Friday,12pm to 6pm liaising with the Project Manager in relation to the menu. Ideally you will have a recognised catering qualification, a good understanding of basic dietary requirements e.g. diabetes, IBS and vegetarianism and experience of working in a commercial kitchen, ensuring cleanliness and safety prevail at all times.
