Job Title: 2nd / 3rd Line IT Support Engineer / Analyst

Location: Neasden, North West London

Salary:  £28,000 – £35,000 dependent on experience

The company is a technology company (IT and LED products) that has been established for more than 25 years. They are based in NW London (Neasden/Wembley Park). 

The company is on the lookout for a confident, self- driven and hands-on 2nd/3rd Line Engineer who loves technology and learning new things. The jobs involves supporting the internal/external network, PC infrastructure and business applications with some 1st line support.  Since they are a technology company, the job involves testing and supporting some of their end-users on their products (training given).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience with desktops and servers.
  • Practical business experience working with VMWare or Hyper-V.
  • Good knowledge of Active Directory, security policies and DNS.
  • Networking knowledge of firewalls, switches, routers and security systems.
  • Resolve issue with internal and remote users and escalating problems when necessary.
  • Communicate with users on the status of support cases.
  • Production of documentation and user guides.
  • Performing scheduled audits , product testing, maintenance and security checks.
  • Provide application support e.g. MS Office, Outlook.
  • Learn and provide support for business applications.
  • Manage access to network resources such as printers and network drives.
  • Support of some of our IT products with end customers.
  • Create and update FAQs , databases and a knowledgebase.
  • Any MS SQL /Exchange skills are an advantage.

Key Requirements:

  • MS Exchange.
  • Any MS SQL skills are an advantage.
  • Reliable self-starter.
  • Ability to think through problems.
  • Build resilient solutions.
  • Good documentation skills.

Desirable:

  • Degree in an IT related subject with MCITP / MCSE / VCP qualifications.
  • 3+ years’ experience within a 2nd/3rd line support role.
