Peterborough Regional College (PRC) is a large, successful college of further and higher education. The PRC Group has several wholly owned subsidiaries as part of its operation.

We currently have a fixed term, full time opportunity for a Management Accountant in the Finance team. This is for a period of nine to twelve months. There is also the potential for a permanent role after this period of maternity cover dependent upon other exciting developments with PRC.

This position is responsible for the production of monthly management accounts for two of PRC's subsidiaries, PRC Ventures and Anglia Professional Training Limited, and in addition for the provision of financial services to Greater Peterborough University Technical College. All are based in Peterborough. All three operations are expanding and there is frequent interaction with the management teams of them.

The Team's Finance Apprentice supports this role in performing the day to day transactions for the subsidiaries, and the successful candidate will have line management responsibility for this person. The role is largely self-sufficient and the successful candidate needs to be confident and used to working on their own initiative.

The working hours will usually be 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. However, the working hours will vary on occasions dependent on the needs of the College.

The successful candidate will ideally be AAT qualified and have a good level of education to a minimum of level 3 in English and Maths. There is possibility to support a candidate who is still involved in professional development such as CIMA if this is appropriate and relevant to the role.

You will be a motivated, self-starter with the highest level of commitment to constantly seeking improvements to existing processes. All three operations are experiencing expansion so you will ideally have experience of supporting managers in the preparation of forecasts and plans for new opportunities. Exceptional communication skills both verbally and written are essential along with excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
