This employee owned business provides engineering, design, analysis, project expertise and specialist handling and access equipment to international marine, offshore, subsea and renewable energy markets. Based in the UK, they serve a broad range of clients that includes oil and gas operators, drilling companies, specialist vessel operators and public-sector bodies.

Supporting the London-based IT Manager by providing 2nd Line IT support to 150 users at 4 locations and occasionally visiting client sites in the UK. This will include providing end-user application support via phone, messaging and service desk software, along with hardware set-up and support. The Aberdeen office will relocate in spring 2018 so experience of activities associated with a major office\IT move is desirable.

Key Duties of the role:
- Managing the IT Service Desk Incident queue.
- Taking delivery of equipment and checking contents before assembly.
- Setting up new laptops, PCs and users.
- Occasionally visiting other company locations and client sites and developing a close relationship with the users at all sites.
- Performing system administrative tasks user and server related.
- Informing all users of planned IT maintenance.
- Involvement with the IT Team in regular meetings.
- Liaising with IT Manager for the purpose of personal development.
- Helping to support, train and mentor other team members.
- Organising secure disposal and recycling of hardware.
- Fielding sales calls.

Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications required for the role:

- 3+ years' experience in a similar role, for a small to medium sized enterprise.
- Ideally Security Cleared.
- An interest in engineering and oil and gas related activities is desirable.
- Knowledge of Networking - VPN, Firewalls, switches and routers.
- Strong Windows server 2008-2016 operating systems skills including AD + Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.
- Knowledge of Virtual Server Environment Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of SCCM and SharePoint.
- Printing management and IIS.
- Windows 7, 8 and 10 Desktop Operating Systems experience essential.
- Windows Server 2008-2016.
- Microsoft Office 365 or other recent versions of Office experience essential.
- Good understanding of network infrastructure including LANs, WANs and telephony systems (Avaya, Skype for Business).
- Exposure to supporting end-users with varying technical ability.
- Interest in personal development.
