Join our team as a member of our board and make a positive difference to the work that we do.

Can you see the potential in everyone?

Do you care about supporting others to live full and aspirational lives?

Can you recognise and celebrate differences and diversity?

Do you want to help us shape our organisation and services?

If you have answered yes to all the questions above, we would love to hear from you. Active Prospects is the third largest care provider in Surrey and supports people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, acquired brain injury and those with complex needs and behaviours that challenge, to live full and aspirational lives. Our team of 250 trained and experienced staff support 300 people across Surrey to have choice, freedom and control over their lives. And we are very successful at what we do, 100% of our regulated services are rated good by CQC against a national average of 73%.

We have come a long way since we were first established almost thirty years ago, but we have ambitious plans to go much further. In 2016 we started a significant change programme with a new Chief Executive Officer and a new senior management team with the aim to become a leading organisation known for delivering innovative, flexible and responsive care. To help us complete this journey we are now actively looking for two new Board Members to join our board who can help us shape our strategy and deliver our new forward plans.

Ideally we are looking for people with an IT background, marketing or retail experience and a knowledge of the social care sector, but just as importantly we want people who are passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health to live full, aspiring, rewarding lives. These are voluntary roles, although reasonable travel expenses will be paid, and the time commitment is up to eight late afternoon/evening meetings a year, plus an annual strategy awayday normally held on a Saturday. Board meetings are held at our head office in East Surrey.

For more information on these exciting opportunities, and to help make a real difference to the work that we do visit our website at and download our Board Member Recruitment Pack.

The role description below gives further information on what the role of a board member entails if this is not something that you have considered before.

The closing date for applications is 30 th October and interviews will be held in November.
