The Position:    

Applications are invited for a Shift Maintenance Fitter position at the Company’s SecAnim Widnes site. This is a full time permanent position, working 4 on / 4 off shifts (days only). The post holder will assist with the operation and maintenance of all processes and equipment within the Rendering division.

As a Fitter your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company’s requirements but will include:

•    Maintenance and repair of a range of mechanical plant, a good knowledge of Pneumatics & Hydraulics
•    Good knowledge of all pump types (centrifugal, positive displacement , self priming etc.)
•    Completion of Planned Preventative Maintenance activities
•    Undertaking surveys and reports as required  
•    To evaluate performance and ensure the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment under contract to the company is carried out. 
•    To be able to carry out a reasonable standard of welding, MMA & MIG
•    Completion of steam raising works and boiler house routine checks
•    Assist in meeting all legislative requirements in respect of environment and health and safety, including maintaining accurate records.
•    Cover in the plant for sickness/holidays.
•    Any other ad hoc duties as required. 

Requirements 

•    Had a time served apprenticeship or recognised Mechanical Engineering certification/qualification, or equivalent.
•    Previous engineering experience within a process/factory environment. 
•    To be able to work on own initiative and take ownership of projects within an agreed timescale.
•    Take a pro active approach to problem solving and produce appropriate solutions to reduce disruption to working processes.
•    Have a calm and methodical approach to work and be able to work under pressure within time constraints.
•    Manage a number of projects effectively and troubleshoot as and when required.
•    Must be a team worker, and help the team to be developed and maintained.
