Job Elements

·We are seeking an experienced CAD Design Engineer to join a team working to develop a cutting edge new technology. The successful candidate will work closely with both the in-house engineering team and supplier engineering departments to develop a full scale mechanical design package for the device.

·Create large and complex CAD assembly models.

·Design detailed component parts.

·Work with suppliers to import or package model parts of the machine.

·Create detailed drawings of the machine and its components.

·Perform strength and fatigue analysis using FEM tools.

·Support procurement activities including component and supplier selection.

·Support factory acceptance testing of device components.

·Solve design, packaging and technical problems.

·Create detailed technical specifications.

·Carry out design calculations and complete associated reports for review.

·Manage the process of design releases from initiation to approval, through to storage and distribution.

·Create renderings and visualisations of the machine.

The ideal candidate will have:

·Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

·Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with high complexity CAD assembly models and detailed CAD component design (Ideally using Inventor).

·Ability to carry out stress and fatigue analysis (FEA/CFD) in the product design suite.

·Experience of geometric tolerancing.

·A track record of successfully delivering projects through the entire cycle from planning / designing to manufacturing & assembly of components / machines.

·Able to produce high quality CAD drawings of both components and large assemblies.

·Excellent mechanical design capabilities and good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.

·Excellent problem solving skills and able to work with minimal supervision.

·Proficient in English, both spoken and written.

·Eligibility to live and work in the UK.

·Valid UK Driving Licence.
