With the main office function based in Stoke-on-Trent, they are recruiting for a Finance Analyst to join their established and growing team. The Job
Working within this busy finance team you will be responsible for working closely with monthly reporting, analysis, forecasting and budgeting along with business projections and ad hoc reporting.
My client is seeking a candidate who will be able to add value to their accounts team and provide an additional layer of insight in relation to business performance. Sitting under the financial controller with dotted lines to other managers within the business due to the requirement to provide analytical support across the business.
As part of this role you will be responsible for assisting with driving the business forward and progressing the performance of the company.
As Financial Analyst your duties will include, but will not be limited to;
- Divided by product group, region, consumer and market you will prepare, distribute and review monthly revenue reports
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly estimates and assisting in annual planning and setting of budgets
- Tracking variances against target and providing commentary and analysis on performance
- Working closely with department heads in Marketing, Sales and Purchasing to provide them with the ongoing performance analysis required
- Providing detailed analysis of current and historic sales, purchasing and marketing performance and preparing reports and projections based on this analysis
- Identifying trends in performance and providing recommendations for improvement
- Co-ordinating with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts
- Prepare various industry and market analyses
- Assist with the development and maintenance of complex pricing models
- Assist the Finance Manager in review and development of targets and annual budgets
- Prepare and review financial variances between Actual/Budget/Forecast financial results
- Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
- Provide information to management by assembling and summarising data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analysis, and recommendations
- Perform strategic and scenario analysis to determine present and future financial performance
- Provide user support and maintenance during annual budget cycle and quarterly forecast cycles
- Develop and refine key business metrics and drive robust analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities, while evaluating possible alternatives and recommending appropriate actions
- Build analytical models that use both financial and non-financial data to forecast operating results.
- Conduct comparable analysis as necessary in support of key business metrics and objectives
Key skills
Previous experience within accounts is essential and ideally you will have experience of analysis and review and will have a desire to progress you career. Applications from those who are QBE or CIMA / ACCA part qualified will be welcomed however my client will consider applications from those with local equivalent qualifications.
As is to be expected within a finance role, a good understanding of Microsoft Office is required, in particular excellent Excel skills. You must be self-motivated and keen to succeed.
