Job Introduction
The BBC Children's Audience team, based at MediaCity in Salford, brings to life the BBC's core value that Audiences are at the heart of everything we do. Our BBC Children's Audience team delivers audience insight and analysis to inform strategic, creative and tactical decision making within the BBC Children's department, including its flagship multi-platform brands CBeebies and CBBC. As Senior Research Executive for BBC Children's, you will work at a senior level, across a range of platforms (TV, online, social media, mobile etc.), and will focus on understanding behaviours, perceptions and experiences of BBC Children's audiences to influence strategic planning and commissioning.
***This is a 6 month fixed-term contract and we will accept applications to work from either Salford or London***

Role Responsibility
The core component of the Senior Research Executive role is conducting product performance analysis and measurement so strong quantitative skills are essential. In addition the role also comprises building close relationships with senior divisional partners and communication of research findings, as well as leading ad hoc and continuous research projects.
Research outputs are required to help understand the needs and behaviours of BBC Children's audiences and ensure this knowledge informs the design and development of products and services. Influencing stakeholders within BBC Children's in order to facilitate stakeholder buy in is paramount. You won't just be conducting data analysis, but actively communicating insights generated by the team in an inspirational way, ensuring actions are recommended and taken where necessary. You will be responsible for identifying research gaps and commissioning and undertaking strategic and tactical qualitative and quantitative research, including the management of external agencies.
The Ideal Candidate
A proactive approach is essential. We are looking for a pro-active Senior Research Executive who can bring a sophisticated analytical approach and the ability to critically evaluate ideas and information, select relevant data, identify key trends, issues and solutions across all media platforms, especially TV, online, and social media. A high level of attention to detail is essential as accuracy is vital within this post. You'll be very proficient at quantitative research and analysis, bring a thorough understanding of industry sources such as BARB and TGI, and be able to quickly adapt to bespoke data sources too. You will be a story teller with the ability to take research beyond data to insights and action and show that you can work with, present to, and influence people at a senior level. Naturally, you'll have a proven record of achievement in audience or consumer research, showing not only proficiency in research techniques including qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, but also an ability to creatively exploit research data. Aligned to all of this will be your ability to successfully manage large scale, complex projects to challenging deadlines.
