Are you looking for a move to lead your own marketing function in an award-winning sustainability consultancy in London using your events management marketing experience? We are looking for an innovative Marketing Manager with a strong social media and content management background, who is able to devise and more importantly lead and deliver our marketing strategy across our consultancy and award winning on line school.

We are a leading consultancy, founded in 2006, established with the aim of leading and inspiring sustainable supply chain management. Our experienced consultancy team provides specialist business advice, training, and practical tools to leading organisations such as Skanska, Cobham, Balfour Beatty, NHS, Network Rail, Molson Coors and British Land. Many of our clients are leaders in their sectors on sustainability issues and we are proud of our reputation for leading the thinking in this area. Notable successes are our authoring of the world’s first standard for sustainable procurement BS8903 in 2010, the launch of the multi-award winning supplychainschool.co.uk in 2013 and our online performance management tool in 2014, and more recently in April 2017 the launch of the new international standard for sustainable procurement, ISO 20400, for which we represented the UK delegation. We also have an office in Australia which will be serviced by this role.

The Marketing Manager Opportunity:

Reporting to the Managing Director the Marketing Manager will devise, lead and deliver the marketing strategy for the company in conjunction with the Senior Managers of AS and to promote and drive revenue for the Online Schools, training events and workshops, AS consultancy and other products and services

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

+ Understand the objectives of the AS Consultancy, AS Schools in Supply Chain Sustainability and Off site construction and their client audience and stakeholders
+ In conjunction with AS Senior Managers, devise and deliver the marketing strategy for all the products and services that increase the amount of engagement and revenue of the organisation
+ Work with Lead Consultants to devise new product and/or sector-specific marketing drives to engage new clients
+ Work with the Events Marketing Officers to devise and ensure delivery of innovative and original e-marketing ideas for the AS Schools to drive engagement and increase active membership
+ Promote the core AS activities by identifying relevant speaker opportunities and explore other training workshops, blogs and case studies to further enhance the AS work and reputation
+ Ensure the AS website content is up to date and attractive to new clients and liaise with our web solution providers to ensure cost effective and timely support
+ Advise Consultants and Directors on how new marketing initiatives can support new products and services to ensure the Consultancy remains at the leading edge
+ Design innovative initiatives to promote the School’s events with its partners, in order to increase membership
+ Devise the brand strategy for all products and services of AS and all promotional materials to support this
+ Ensure effective use of the marketing budget to maximise its value and work with outsourced agencies where required 
+ Ensure that all e-marketing, social media and other campaigns are linked and reinforce the AS brand
+ Manage and develop an Events Marketing Officer and Digital Marketing Apprentice
+ Create and develop new innovative ways to communicate the organisation’s message to customers both in UK and Australia
+ Analyse marketing information to inform decision making
+ Be prepared to carry out marketing campaigns as and where necessary depending on workload.

Required Key skills:

+ Ability to devise and deliver event marketing campaigns that constantly engage membership and their participation with the school and increase overall membership 
+ Aptitude for being proactive and a desire for self-starting initiative to get marketing plans up and running and implemented 
+ Proven experience of devising and delivering e- marketing and social media campaigns in a fast moving environment such as events, publishing, digital marketing
+ Ability to analyse and interpret data with a range of digital marketing tools and devise campaigns whilst maximising resources
+ Understanding of marketing budgets and how to maximise the value of any spend
+ Natural authority, experience in leading people, excellent capacity to interact with all levels
+ Ability to support and develop others both within the team and organisation
+ Excellent knowledge of Content Management Systems, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office skills and devise engaging presentations
+ Strong project management skills
+ Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form, with presentation
+ Good organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to work in a flexible and creative way
+ Ability to lead and advise other teams and to work cross functionally and internationally to deliver high quality outcomes
+ Creative, constantly looking for new ways of marketing AS products and services utilising latest technology and social media
+ Knowledge of event marketing is a necessity for the role and a passion for sustainability would be advantageous as would knowledge of online products, services, preferably in sustainability or construction

Qualifications:

Applicants should have the following criteria:


+ Degree in marketing or related subject 
+ Substantial time working successfully in a fast moving, high volume, commercial marketing environment
+ Experience in either event management marketing, digital marketing or publishing
+ An interest is sustainability or knowledge of construction industry would be preferable and knowledge of sustainability in Australia desirable

Role Info:

+ Salary circa £40,000 depending upon experience
+ Holidays 26 days plus 8 statutory holidays

+ Location The role will be based in our London office, (Next to Angel Tube Station)
