Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager

Our client, Senior Aerospace Bird Bellows, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Senior PLC, serving aircraft and aero-engine manufacturers with the design, manufacture and testing of high integrity engineered components for the ducting systems in many commercial and military aircraft programmes. A range of similarly specialised products are supplied to pressure relief valve manufacturers worldwide with applications in the petrochemical, energy, and related industries. The company achieves consistent 50% export sales.

Reporting to the Head of Operations this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Purchasing and  Supply Chain Manager, responsible for managing all sourcing and procurement.  This role will ensure customer requirements are met on time and in accordance with the appropriate quality standards, through a highly capable and cost effective supply base.

The Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager will have a high degree of autonomy, operate at a senior level and have the ability to manage, mentor and develop an effective procurement team. In addition, they will be CIPS qualified or have equivalent qualification or experience.

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven and demonstrable knowledge of the complex Aerospace and Non-Aerospace supply chain
• Proven capability of managing a purchase function within a technically demanding environment
• Experience of negotiating with suppliers and delivering a customer focused service
• Proven capability of managing a full MRP order book in support of a manufacturing / delivery schedule

In addition, the ideal candidate will have:

• A Degree or a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
• An ability to leverage and analyse complex ERP/MRP data to enable effective decision making
