This Washington, Tyne & Wear based engineering training organisation is currently seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled (Electrical and Mechanical) Engineering Work Based Training Assessor / Training Officer to work with apprentices located at employers' facilities around the North East.

The successful applicant is likely to be time served, with experience in both electrical and mechanical installation and maintenance in an industrial setting. They will be skilled at initial installation, testing, diagnostics and fault finding.

They will have recent experience in delivering engineering apprenticeship assessment (typically NVQ L3), ideally with an understanding of both Framework and Standards based apprenticeships.

They must hold a training assessor's qualification. It is likely that they will also hold an internal verifier's award and a teaching qualification.

They must hold a current driving licence and be prepared to use their own vehicle in carrying out visits to employers' premises (A mileage allowance will be paid).

Main Duties:
- Develop and maintain good and outstanding review and assessment practice
- Conduct work based learner reviews and assessments in line with relevant apprenticeship / training programmes
- Prepare learner review and assessment reports
- Maintain close working relationships with apprentice employers
- Advise employers of NVQ and other training pathways appropriate to their employees
- Maintain learner training records as required by funding and awarding bodies
- Support the growth of apprenticeships and standalone training programmes
