Financial Controls & Compliance Analyst - 12 month contract

Our client, the UK's largest organisation in its sector, seeks a Financial Controls & Compliance Analyst for a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave in its corporate compliance, risk and audit department. Within the organisation, the department is seen as a 'value-add' function, providing assurance over the organisation's large-scale projects and day to day business operations.

Reporting to the Risk & Controls Manager, the Financial Controls & Compliance Analyst will lead and deliver efficient and effective compliance activities in respect of key compliance risks within the business around financial areas but also Data Protection Act, PCI (Payment Card Industry standards) and any other regulatory requirements. You will support the business in defining and recording key controls to mitigate risks and identify and deliver activities from planning through to reporting to demonstrate delivery of insight and value for stakeholders in line with agreed methodologies and standards. In addition, you will also support the wider Audit and Assurance Management team with identification of key risk areas for assurance and development and maintenance of stakeholder relationships (both internal and external).

This is a unique opportunity involving the development of relationships with key stakeholders, engaging with the business to add value to the way we report whilst developing the role. This role requires someone with a positive, result driven mind-set and strong interpersonal/communication skills.

Skills / Experience / Attributes:

• A qualified / part-qualified accountant or audit professional - ACA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA, IIA
• Practical audit, internal controls or compliance experience
• Strong analytical and Excel skills
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
• Results driven with a pragmatic approach
