This vacancy is being advertised by Red Recruitment 247 who are acting in the capacity of an employment agency. We are seeking an experienced Bursar to work on a long term temporary contract for a local school to cover a period of maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities:

To be responsible for the strategic planning aspects, including all financial
Implications, ensuring the school makes the best possible use of resources
available
To be responsible for effective 'Risk Management' for example, regarding
health and safety of any third party service contracts.
To report on the financial state of the school to governors.
To monitor the annual budget and present regular management reports to the Headteacher and the Governing Body.
To keep and maintain all school accounts and to prepare income and
expenditure accounts and balance sheets.
Prepare financial returns for the DfES, LEA and other central and local government agencies within statutory deadlines.
To negotiate, manage and monitor contracts, tenders and agreements for the provision of support services.
To be responsible for general personnel matters for example ensuring new
staff are cleared for employment, and to seek\provide advice on salaries and terms and conditions of employment.
To supervise the schools insurance in all forms, obtain quotations and pay
invoices in a timely manner.
To be responsible for the maintenance of the school site and buildings.
Maintain an inventory and arrange for the maintenance, repair or replacement of the equipment including furniture and fittings.

The Candidate:

Must have at least 3 years relevant experience, ideally within a school or educational establishment.
Previous experience of staff supervision would be preferred
A Bursar qualification would also be an advantage
Must be IT competent and able to work accurately and efficiently

This position will ideally be working full time (37 hours) per week although part time may be considered for the right candidate.
Excellent hourly rates of pay
