We are a long established electrical wholesalers and lighting showroom. We have been trading since 1974. We are a customer service driven business and want to offer our customers a great buying experience. We have a great portfolio of customers, many have used us for years, and nearly all our new business comes from word of mouth recommendations.

We work as a close team and although there are monthly sales targets in place these are not specific for each person. This encourages everyone to work well together and helps to ensure the customer always comes first. We have a large open plan lighting showroom at the front of the shop and a trade counter behind this. Our showroom is maintained to a high standard and we all work together to keep the displays looking their best. This involves a close working relationship with our suppliers. We visit their showrooms and form strong relationships with them to make sure we get keen pricing and deals. We offer a lighting design service and have a very hands on approach to the way we work with people looking to buy lighting. We also restore and sell genuine vintage lighting and have some gorgeous theatre and TV lights on display. We showcase a wide array of light fittings from across the world and our showroom is a creative and fun place to work.

We have some great trade customers and some real characters use the wholesalers. The atmosphere on the trade counter is always lively. We are expected to offer competitive pricing on the brands we stock, to maintain good levels of stock and to be able to offer technical advise to help electricians choose and work with products. This is very rewarding and growing a new or existing trade account is very satisfying. 60-70% of our business comes from the trade so this is a very important side to the business. The trade also help promote our showroom as they are often in direct contact with people working on their homes. So the more trade customers whom use us the more traffic we see in the showroom.

We also run a website with over 15,000 items listed for sale. This mirrors our shop and showroom. The website generates us new sales from across the UK it also promotes the showroom and helps us connect with new customers. On a Saturday it is not unusual for someone to travel 2-3 hours to come and see us and talk lighting having found us online. Although the online market place is growing we have found people like to speak directly to an expert before buying their lights so we encourage this online. We promote our website in store and through social media. We have great feedback and reviews from our customers and we are keen to continue to grow this side of the business.

We have won various awards for our efforts including the UK's best independent electrical wholesalers which we won in 2015.

We are looking for someone to join our team and work with our trade and lighting customers. The ideal applicant must have industry experience and ideally will have worked in an electrical wholesalers. I believe a position here is a career and not a stepping stone between jobs. Many of my team have been working here for years. I want to grow to the business and have a plan to open a new branch and showroom. So I want to establish a strong team around me to work with me and my customers. The sales role will include developing new and existing trade customers. The roll will include calling customers to discuss new products and services. There is a monthly target in place and a sales commission will be paid if these targets are met. The sales bonus is uncapped. Everything is targeted around business growth. So working closely with your team and managing the trade accounts and up coming projects to ensure we for fill any quoted works is vital. Likewise the showroom is a great source of business and many of the projects we are involved in are high end. So taking time to consider products and offer designs to customers is a great way to push us ahead of our competitors. I am happy to offer training on this side of the business and help you learn how we work and how to design lighting. Long term as the business grows the position will mature and I will need an assistant manager to help the shop manager. So there is great scope to learn and help us grow our business.
