Northumberland College has two main campuses at Ashington and Kirkley Hall and centres at Hexham and Berwick and was Graded Good by Ofsted in May 2017. Our new GBP2.5 million state of the art STEM centre which opened in Sept 2017 has dedicated facilities and cutting edge technologies which offers unique opportunities and real experience to develop the high level skills our region requires. The Head of the Engineering Academy is required to lead and manage the delivery of the College's Engineering provision, which includes full cost and commercial provision as well as a wide range of taught courses. This includes the leadership of the Engineering team, continual development of new and existing courses ranging from Entry Level to Level 5, engagement with employers and external stakeholders and the management of departmental resources. You will also play a lead role in driving continuous quality improvement within teaching, learning and assessment across the Academy. The Head of the Engineering is responsible for building, leading and sustaining outstanding provision and driving forward the ethos to ensuring high quality learning takes place, through effective monitoring, evaluation and review of progress. Educated to Degree level in an Engineering related subject, you will also have a proven ability to lead and manage a team, including setting a culture of high expectation and achieving outstanding outcomes. You will also be experienced in curriculum planning, delivery and review with experience in using a wide range of learning technologies.
