A Sous Chef is required for an exciting new Middle-east inspired restaurant, opening in Oxford, bringing the ethos of innovation and creativity from its London-based head office restaurant. As Sous Chef, you will be joining a modern, beautifully designed restaurant with the added customer attraction of 'The Roof Garden' with panoramic views across Oxford. You will:-

- Have a thorough understanding of the food philosophy and the culinary direction that is required for the product
- Have a thorough understanding of the Chefs Operations Manual and ensure normal kitchen operations are performed as instructed in it
- Contribute actively in the creative process and possess and develop quality awareness in every aspect of the business, from procurement and sourcing, through to finishing and presentation of dishes
- Assist the Executive Chef in day to day running of the kitchen, viz. rosters, supervision of porters and team, allocation of duties etc.
- Establish a rapport with the team and maintain good supplier relations
- Assist the Head Waiters and Management team in compiling information on menus, new dishes and general awareness on speciality ingredients and the product
- Check the cleaning company staff/porters in their job
- Ensure that daily, weekly and monthly activities and checklists are carried out as agreed
- Ensure that all equipment, including crockery and china is properly cared for and that necessary par stock levels are maintained at all times
- Oversee the daily appearance and personal hygiene of staff, ensuring that they maintain the highest possible standards at all times.
- Liaise with the Reception team and assist in maximising table usage through planning, organisation and communication
