Permanent Position (0.92 FTE)
36.5 hours a week during term time (30 weeks) – 7:30 am – 8:00 am to 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm
30 hours a week out of term time (22 weeks) - 7:30 am – 8:00 am to 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Applications are invited for an individual to join a busy team to support the delivery of practical laboratory classes. You will lay out practicals to detailed specifications and be involved in consumable management of stock. In addition, you will lead the laboratory support of the School’s varied widening participation programme ensuring that objectives for the age and size of the group can be achieved.
You will be educated to GCSC level or equivalent, including a Science subject and have previous experience in a similar role. You will also have knowledge of health and safety requirement in a lab environment. Knowledge of the importance of sterilisation for the school research and teaching labs and of the legislative requirement and constraints surrounding outreach activities with both junior and secondary school pupils would be desirable.
