Our client have an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join the team in their Leicester offices
You will be joining an established consultancy that have provided technical advice to the construction sector for over 30 years. As a Geotechnical Engineer with our client you will be exposed to nationally significant projects and will be working with an experienced team that offer support and who reward a desire to exceed expectations and expand technical knowledge.
This role has become available due to continued success and growth and an ever increasing workload. The role of Geotechnical engineer will be a mix of office and site based work so an experience in handling this type of workload is essential.
When office based you will be undertaking:
- Technical reports and specification preparation
- Desk studies
- Data collation
Whilst site based you will be carrying out:
- Site investigation,
- Supervision of earthworks,
- Landfill engineering,
- Monitoring and
- Testing
Due to this mixed workload you should have a range of experience and should be familiar with software such as SLOPE/W, AutoCAD and LSS draughting packages.
To be successful in your application for Geotechnical Engineer you must have been working for a similar consultancy for at least 2 years and hold a BSc in Geology or Earth Sciences. A BEng in Civil Engineering will also be considered. An MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or similar subject would also be an advantage. Due to the nature of the work you must also hold a full Driving licence.
